Coexistence was appointed to assist on this amazing project after a successful and competitive tender process. ARD’s vision for this centre, the first of its kind, was designed to complement and improve the current building’s ecosystem, expanding the LinkedIn brand and its messaging while keeping sustainability and inclusivity at its core. The design for the ground floor space makes the most of its natural introvert and extrovert qualities.
The user experience starts with ‘The Arcade’, a vibrant, internal street accessible to all LinkedIn staff and guests. This dynamic lobby provides a welcoming first impression and its design uses integrated planting and generous natural light to create a visual interplay between inside and out. At the reception, we find Vitra Allstar, Arflex Elettra and Mollers Bench 63a. Moving through the space, a series of distinctive meeting spaces are populated with PK1 by Carl Hansen, Torno by +Halle wrapped around HAY’s Two Colour Tables and Andreu World Dual 50. All creating a collaborative environment.
Vibrant mobile large planters by Jennifer Newman were produced in bespoke RAL colours to match the architectural tiled elements of this indoor street scape. ARD’s functional interventions, the cloakroom and photobooth are designed as bright ‘pop-out’ features, accentuated by bright colours.
Centrally located, a flexible event space known as ‘The Theatre’ serves the needs of both executive clients and regular LinkedIn visitors. A large multi-purpose space designed to act as a dynamic focal point for events, talks and presentations. Clad in coral acoustic battens, its form can adapt to changing needs, appearing porous, thanks to monumental pivot doors on both sides that can swivel open for public events, or enclosed, providing privacy and containing acoustics for high-quality and confidential presentations. Inside this elegant box moments of colour are introduced through upholstered bespoke height 3107 chairs by Fritz Hansen.
Finally, The Executive Briefing Centre, with shifts in tone and materiality lead the visitor from the dynamic, open spaces of the Arcade to a more sophisticated space, which serves as an exclusive executive and member’s area.
Soft, curved forms create human-centred environments with an intimate, ‘living-room’ feel that draws people together, Arper Bowl and Tacchini Lima allow for informal collaboration. We worked closely with ARD and Opus Magnum on Bespoke Boardroom tables to bring exactly what the client, LinkedIn, required for the meeting spaces.
Ab Rogers Design has designed this experience centre to focus on its user’s needs, big or small, formal or informal, the network of hardworking, responsive spaces will facilitate memorable human connection, bringing LinkedIn closer to their customers.
